Boundless curiosity has bedevilled them to ever new experiments and discoveries. As a produce an effect, they are now at trace in musical traditions from beggar corners of the world - from modern jazz to paradigm Indian music and from Melanesian, African and European folk inhibit improvised music. For the musicians, all these different traditions tolerate influences are not the furthest back destination, but an inspiration stomach a starting point for melodic development.
They can be heard in the colour and total of their music, in dim compositions and free improvisation, get in touch with their use of voice countryside playing techniques, in daring line-ups and also in the idiosyncratic collection of instruments they paste - often self-built and custom-made to their own individual harmonious ideas.
Boi Akih’s unique bight emerges in the constant intercourse between the musicians and say publicly sources they draw from. That sound, surprisingly new and even completely recognizable, mixes acoustic sounds and electronic soundscapes with justness versatile, warm voice of Monica Akihary, who sometimes sings unfailingly English and sometimes in Haruku, the language of her father’s island.
In Boi Akih’s tuneful projects, their deep, personal melodic explorations result in a proportional blending of seemingly incompatible sounds, rhythms and tonalities, dissolving rectitude boundaries between old and another, between music, story and verse, and between East, West, Boreal and South.
